World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day
World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day (World NTD Day) is observed on January 30 every year to raise awareness about neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
2023 theme is "Act Now. Act Together. Invest in Neglected Tropical Diseases".
The proposal to recognise the day was floated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The first World NTD Day was celebrated informally in 2020.
Martyr's Day (Shaheed Diwas) 2023
On January 30, 2023, India observed Martyrs' Day or Shaheed Diwas to pay tribute to all the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country.
The day is also marked as the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Monument Mitra Scheme
Ministry of Culture is to hand over around 1,000 monuments under the control of the Archaeological Survey of India to the private sector for their upkeep under the Monument Mitra Scheme.
Corporate entities will take over the monuments as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
These companies will revamp these monuments in terms of amenities, experience, tourism, etc.
Monument Mitra Scheme was launched under the Ministry of Tourism earlier and then transferred to the Ministry of Culture.
Khadi Fest-23
The month-long Khadi Fest- 23 was inaugurated by Khadi and Village Industries Commission(KVIC) in Mumbai.
The Khadi Village Industries Commission was established in 1957 under the Khadi and Village Industries Commission Act 1956.
It is under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
India's First Green Solar Panel Factory
Luminous has planned to build India's first green energy-based solar panel manufacturing plant in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand.
The solar panel facility is fully robotic and will use 100 percent of solar power energy.
