National Science Day 2023

On February 28 each year, National Science Day honours Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman as C.V. Raman, an Indian scientist and physician, for discovering the "Raman Effect."

India has joined a global initiative started by the US and the UAE to boost funding and assistance for the development of climate-smart agriculture and food systems.

North East's 1st compressed biogas plant

The foundation stone-laying ceremony for the first-ever compressed biogas plant project in northeast India took place at Kamrup district, Assam.

Bio-gas is produced naturally (through a process of anaerobic decomposition) from waste / bio-mass sources like agriculture residue, cattle dung, sugarcane press mud, municipal solid waste, sewage treatment plant waste, etc.

After purification, it is compressed and called CBG, which has high methane content.

First foreign university to establish a campus in India

The first foreign university to establish a campus in India will be Deakin University of Australia.

Two Australian universities Wollongong and Deakin are set to establish campuses in Gujarat’s "GIFT City".
