Atal Pension Yojana
Atal Pension Yojana was formerly known as Swavalamban Yojana, primarily targes at the unorganised sector.
It is a government-backed pension scheme in India launched by PM Modi on 9th May 2015 in Kolkata.
the government announced that it would co-contribute 50% of the total contribution or Rs 1,000 per annum, whichever is lower, to each eligible subscriber account, for a period of 5 years.
Only subscribers who had enrolled in APY between 1 June 2015 and 31 March 2016, and were not beneficiaries of any social security schemes, besides not having any taxable income were eligible for this co-contribution.
The minimum eligible age for a person to join APY is 18 years and the maximum is 40 years.
An enrolled person would start receiving pension on attaining the age of 60 years.
Subscribers are required to opt for a monthly pension from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000.
The majority of subscribers have opted for a Rs 1,000 pension followed by 11 percent opting for the highest pension amount of Rs 5,000 per month.
21st Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF)
Two Indian films bagged awards for the best script writer and best actress in the Asian Film Competition section at the 21st Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF), Bangladesh.
Anik Dutta directed film Aparajito (The Undefeated) got the best scriptwriting award while Ketaki Narayan was judged the best actress for her role in Krishnendu Kalesh directed film Prappeda (Hawk's Muffin).
Ikkei Watanabe from Japan got the best actor award for the film Nakodo- Matchmakers (Marriage Counsellor).
The Iranian Film Bi-Mother (Motherless) got the best film award.
Most distinguished scientist of the year award 2022
R Vishnu Prassad was awarded "The most distinguished scientist of the year 2022" at Vigyan bhawan, Delhi.
He contributed to smart cities, solid waste management, large-scale water treatment, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan etc.
"Ops Alert" exercise
The Border Security Force (BSF) had begun "Ops Alert" with the goal of enhancing security along the International Border (IB) with Pakistan in the Kutch region of Gujarat and Barmer in Rajasthan.
Additionally, as part of the exercise, public outreach programmes have been planned.
