Namami Gange Mission-II
Namami Gange Programme was launched from June 2014 till 31st March 2021 to rejuvenate River Ganga and its tributaries with a budget of Rs.20,000 crore.
The GoI has approved Namami Gange Mission-II with a budgetary outlay of Rs.22,500 crore till 2026 including projects for existing liabilities (Rs.11,225 Cr) and new projects/interventions (Rs.11,275 crore).
Under Namami Gange Programme, a comprehensive set of interventions such as wastewater treatment, solid waste management, riverfront management, e-flow, afforestation, biodiversity conservation Public Participation, etc. have been taken up for the rejuvenation of river Ganga and its tributaries.
What are UPI LITE features ?
Paytm Payments Banks Limited (PPBL) has launched UPI-LITE, enabled by NPCI for multiple small-value UPI transactions.
UPI Lite is an 'on-device wallet' feature that will allow users to make real-time small-value payments. The upper limit of transaction is Rs 200. Total balance of the on-device wallet can be up to Rs 2,000.
Only debit from your wallet is permitted. All credits to UPI Lite will directly go to your bank account.
You don't need a PIN to send money via UPI Lite.
For regular UPI the upper limit per UPI transaction is Rs 2 lakh.
Science Center and Planetarium
The Science Center and Planetarium will be constructed in Kota, Rajasthan.
An MoU was signed between the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture and the S&T Department of the Government of Rajasthan in this regard.
There are 24 science centers or museums and one R & D laboratory and training center of NCSM, located in different states in India.
Global Best M-GOV Awards
The IIT Indore Students won AED 1 million by winning the gold medal at the World Government Summit in Dubai.
The IIT students were the creators of the "Blockbill" app. Blockbill is a blockchain-based receipt generation app that generates digital receipts for all of its users' transactions.
The World Government Summit was held under the theme of "Shaping Future Governments".
HARBINGER 2023 hackathon
The RBI announced its second global hackathon – "HARBINGER 2023 – Innovation for Transformation" with the theme "Inclusive Digital Services".
Fintechs have been invited to develop solutions that have the potential to make digital financial services accessible to the differently-abled, facilitate efficient compliance, extend the reach of Central Bank Digital Currencies and enhance the scalability of blockchains.
Winner of the hackathon will be given a prize of Rs 40 lakh and runner-up Rs 20 lakh.
The first hackathon was announced in November 2021 and results were declared in June 2022.
