Mathrubhumi Book of The Year award
Author Dr Peggy Mohan has bagged the "Mathrubhumi Book of The Year" award at the fourth edition of Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters (MBIFL 2023).
Her book "Wanderers, Kings and Merchants," won the award that carries Rs 2 lakh as cash prize and a sculpture.
World's Most Popular Leader
PM Modi has been pegged as the world's most popular leader with an approval rating of 78 per cent as per a survey by a US-based consulting firm "Morning Consult."
The list is updated regularly with US President Joe Biden currently ranking number seven.
World Cancer Day 2023
Each year on February 4, World Cancer Day is celebrated worldwide.
"Close The Care Gap" has been the theme for World Cancer Day for the past three years (2022, 2023, and 2024).
Changed name of Bhopal's Islam Nagar village
The Madhya Pradesh government announced that Islam Nagar village, situated in the Bhopal district, has been renamed as Jagdishpur.
Jagdishpur village is located at a distance of around 12 km from Bhopal and is famous for forts.
National Beach Soccer Championships
Kerala has won the title of National Beach Soccer Championship by defeating Punjab 13-4 in the final held at Dumas Beach, Surat.
The 2023 National Beach Soccer Championship was the inaugural edition of the National Beach Soccer Championship, an annual Beach soccer tournament in India organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
